The annual Stewart House Gala Ball will be held on Saturday 22nd June at the Hilton Hotel Sydney and this year Gingerbread Folk cookies will adorn every table setting to delight guests. Each will be wrapped with a special message from the children who were asked ‘What is the best thing about Stewart House?’ This annual event is the major fundraiser for Stewart House and brings much-needed funds to provide care for the 1,800 public school children who attend Stewart House annually for a 12-day respite care - a break from their current circumstance. During their stay, children are provided with optometric, dental and medical screening and treatment if necessary as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and to promote a healthier lifestyle. Stewart House must raise $2.9million to operate and relies entirely on charitable donations. Gingerbread Folk will be supporting this wonderful organisation again later in the year.
